Fire alarm testing is the only way to be certain your system will protect your building when it's needed. Regular inspections are also required by fire code, by many insurance carriers and by equipment manufacturers.
Code-compliant inspections
Inspection and testing requirements are set out in NFPA 72, Chapter 14, and your local fire department (the Authority Having Jurisdiction) may add its own. Our licensed technicians test your system and every connected component to those standards, including:
- Smoke and heat detectors
- Manual pull stations
- Horns, strobes and other notification devices
- Fire door holders, HVAC shutdown and other connected controls
- Control panel, batteries and power supplies

How often do you need an inspection?
It depends on your type of business, the system you have and your local fire department's rules. In general, buildings should have weekly visual checks by staff, with licensed technicians performing visual inspections and complete functional testing at least once a year.
Why regular inspections pay off
- Stay compliant. Avoid fines and failed fire department inspections.
- Catch problems early. Small issues are found before they become expensive repairs or false alarms.
- Protect people and property. A working system gives the earliest possible warning.
